Voting No

The Constitution’s Appropriations Clause, Article I, Section 8:1 says, “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” Appropriations gave Congress, as Justice Joseph Story stated “a controlling influence over the executive power.” James Madison said appropriations were, “the most complete and effectual weapon… for obtaining a redress of every griev

Who Felt the Sky Fall?

March 1, the latest apparent apocalypse deadline, came and went; Congress did nothing — something it does well. Republicans won’t agree to tax hikes and Democrats won’t vote for entitlement spending cuts. The Democrat’s self-inflicted sequestration (2011 Budget Control Act), was largely unnoticed in spite of exaggerated Huffington Post $1.2 trillion draconian sequestration cuts hype.

Call to Action

America teeters on the brink of Obama’s and the liberal Congress’ 2011 dream-child sequestration. Now the President wants a “balanced approach” to fix sequestration.

Re-writing History

Throughout history - even in the Bible- there were fact checkers. Historical revisionismrewrites the facts (lies?) in historical records. I checked on the third Monday in February, called Presidents' Day. Many Americans believe the three-day holiday celebrates all U.S. Presidents.

Boycotting Obama

Like many other Americans, I boycotted TV on Monday January 21 in protest of Obama. As Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. advised, “Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community, which has constantly refused to negotiate, is forced to confront the issue.” So taking his advice, this non-violent boycott revealed the crisis of belief that we have had over so many issues like the economy, Obamacare, Fast and Furious and Benghazi.

Blame the loser

Green Bay Packers coach, Vince Lombardi, said “Winning isn’t everything; winning is the only thing.” Winning at politics is like winning at football. It requires a team that plays together. The Republican team of old-line establishment, young libertarian followers of Ron Paul, and energized Tea party recruits are in the locker room finger pointing and sometimes defecting to the other team.

Harry Reid's fortune

Harry Reid is a scripted orator, but October 14, 2010, Reid was without script in a debate. I asked, “you came from Searchlight to the Senate with very little. Now you’re one of the richest men in the U.S. Senate. And on behalf of Nevada taxpayers we’d like to know, how did you become so wealthy on a government payroll?”

Reid stammered about his investments and that he lived on a fixed income.

Honoring Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.

Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was a visionary leader. We can learn from his lifelessons on a patient, non-violent approach to securing freedom.

Watchmen Needed

The refuse-to-report-uncomfortable-truth media claims that election fraud does not exist. When they are forced to admit that dead people vote, they discount the impact by saying it is insignificant. They don’t get it! The rule of law is not based on value added.

“Fiscal Cliff” is the economic impact that could result from the simultaneous expiration of the Bush era tax cuts, the first installment of the $1.2 trillion spending cuts such as defense, the reduction in the 2013 budget deficit, and the expiration of long term unemployment benefits. Did Congress roll over in Obama’s fiscal cliff snake oil, delaying the perfect storm, pushing the US into recession?
