Text Box: ANGLE CALLS ON REID TO DROP ALITO OBSTRUCTION Assemblywoman urges Harry Reid to show dignity, reject filibuster, and support an up or down vote Reno, NV – Today, Nevada State Assemblywoman and second district congressional candidate Sharron Angle urged Harry Reid to display the same dignity shown by Samuel Alito during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, and called on the Senator to support a fair up or down vote for the Supreme Court nominee. "Unfortunately, it’s probably too much to expect Senator Reid to reject the liberal extremist groups by voting in favor of Judge Alito," stated Angle, "but at a minimum Nevadans expect their Senators to be fair to the nominee and not obstruct the process." "Judge Samuel Alito should be commended for the dignity he displayed during his Senate Judiciary Committee hearings.  He was forthcoming and honest in his answers," stated Angle. "Nevadans insist that Senator Reid conduct himself in a proper manner, and reject the hyper-partisan behavior exemplified by liberal senators and their extremist interest group allies.  Senator Reid should respect the confirmation process and support and up or down vote." Sharron Angle noted that it is clear that Judge Alito’s credentials are impeccable. "After the committee hearings, America now realizes that Judge Alito has the qualifications to perform well on the US Supreme Court.  He will strictly interpret the Constitution and not legislate from the bench."
