ANGLE FILES BALLOT INITIATIVE TO PROTECT TAXPAYERS
CONSTITUENTS APPEALING FOR REAL TAX RELIEF
Carson City, NV - Nevada State Assemblywoman Sharron Angle (R) Reno, a strong advocate for lower taxes & less government, filed a ballot initiative aimed to protect the Nevada taxpayers today at the Secretary of State’s office in Carson City. Mrs. Angle is the author of the Angle Property Tax Restraint Initiative; a petition widely referred to as a Nevada-style Prop 13 designed to protect renters, homeowners, and businesses.
There was some concern that Angle would not have time to sponsor her initiative after the conservative 4-term Assemblywoman announced her bid to run for the Congressional District 2 seat. "I made a promise to the taxpayers in Nevada, and I keep my promises," said Angle. "Nevadans need stable and predictable property taxes that can only be guaranteed through a Constitutional Amendment."
Angle is the co-sponsor of two additional statewide ballot initiatives that protect the property rights of Nevadans. The Property Owners Bill of Rights will ensure against recent eminent domain abuses related to a Supreme Court decision and TASC – the Tax And Spending Control for Nevada initiative written as a taxpayer Bill of Rights which will limit run-away government growth & spending. "The ballot initiatives are being filed in response to the demands of frustrated citizens desiring tax relief, property rights, and responsible government spending, areas they feel have been largely ignored or improperly handled," said Angle.
